13 Year Old Charged With Bringing Gun To School Bus Stop

(St. Petersburg, Fla. - WFLA) Yesterday officers received a report that at about 8:30 a.m. that morning, 13 year old Quonterious Moorer had arrived at the school bus stop located at 6 Avenue South and 46th Street where he displayed a handgun to several other juveniles present. The bus stop services student who attend Azalea Middle School. Moorer did not board the bus and did not attend school that day as he had been suspended. The mother of one of the juveniles present was told of the incident and notified the Azalea school principal who in turn contacted the police. This morning officers went to Moorer's home and spoke to his mother about the incident. She gave consent for officers to search her son's room where a .380 cal semi-automatic handgun was located. Moorer was interviewed and admitted bringing the gun to the bus stop and to showing it to another student. He claimed that he had gotten the gun from another juvenile and officers are following up on that information. Moorer has been charged with one felony count of having possession of a weapon on school property.
