Acid Bomb Hits Tampa School

Tampa, Fla.-(970 WFLA)-Hillsborough deputies have arrested two 7th graders for setting off an acid bomb at Dowdell Middle School.

The acid bomb went off on a walkway on the east side of the school, between two buildings. Although students were changing classes when the bomb went off there were no injuries.  Deputies say there was no property damage.

The school was placed in lockdown for several hours while deputies investigated and cleared the blast area.

The two boys, ages 13 and 15, are charged with the possession and discharge of a weapon on school property. Deputies have also charged the teens with disruption of school function.
