Deputies: Woman lures man into house to rob him, more suspects sought

TOWN AND COUNTRY, Fla. (970 WFLA) – Hillsborough County deputies said a 20-year-old Pinellas Park woman is facing a second degree murder charge and the search is on for two other suspects.

Deputies said the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call Friday, November 29, at 4:40 a.m. from Town and Country Hospital on Webb Road in Tampa.  They said hospital authorities reported that a black male identified as 20-year-old Marlin Walker was brought into the hospital emergency room for a single gunshot wound to the upper right chest area.

Deputies said Walker died as a result of the gun shot wound and that the victim was transported to the hospital by the defendant, Erika Sanez.

Deputies said the investigation revealed that Erika Sanez and Travis Weller had met one month ago and Sanez contacted Weller and made arrangements to meet with him for a date. Deputies said Sanez met with Weller at another location and took him to a vacant residence on Plum Grove Court where she had three males waiting to rob Weller. When the males (Walker and unidentified males) attempted to rob Weller, deputies said he fired shots striking Walker in the chest. Deputies said Sanez drove Walker to the hospital. Weller called 911 stating that "individuals had tried to rob him and he shot a suspect," according to HCSO.

A post Miranda interview was conducted with Sanez, according to deputies, and she admitted that she, the victim Marlin Walker and two other individuals lured Travis Weller to the abandoned house on Plum Grove Court in an attempt to rob him.

Deputies said Sanez admitted to the offense, and she was positively identified by Travis Weller as the person who lured him to the abandoned residence.

The investigation continues as to identifying the other two suspects, according to HCSO deputies.
