TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA)- UPDATE: Police said the medical examiner has determined that the bones found are human and that there are no obvious signs of death or foul play.
TPD said testing will continue and it could be days or weeks before information is available.
Tampa Police said their detectives, the medical examiner and USF anthropologists are searching for evidence near Sligh Avenue and 22nd Street North, between the road and the railroad tracks after a homeless person called TPD stating he saw bones in that area.
Police said officers responded and discovered several bones that appeared human.
TPD said the team is searching to locate, identify and collect any additional evidence, including additional bones.
