Emergency Landing for St. Pete-Bound Flight

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (970 WFLA) --  A flight from Iowa that should have taken two or three hours, turns into an all-night bus ride for its passengers and crew.

Allegiant Air Flight 863 made an emergency landing at the airport in Albany, Georgia, around 9:00 Sunday evening. Authorities in Albany say they received reports of a fire in the cargo area.

WALB-TV reports the passengers used emergency chutes to leave the plane. No injuries reported during the landing or evacuation.

News Channel 8 reports the passengers were placed on buses for a five- or six-hour trip to St. Petersburg.
