Firefighters revive dog after fire

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (970 WFLA) - HillsboroughCounty firefighters said they saved a dog from a burning house.

Firefighters said it happened on the 2800 block of Missouri Avenue, east of Tampa city limits.

When crews arrived, firefighters said the home had heavy smoke coming from the front. Everybody was out of the house, but firefighters went inside to rescue the dog, which was found in one of the bedrooms unconscious.

Firefighters said they quickly brought the animal outside while paramedics provided life-saving care including oxygen via a pet oxygen mask made for dogs. They said the female dog was revived and recovered at the scene until picked up by a family member.

Firefighters said there is heavy fire damage to the kitchen and heavy smoke damage throughout the house.

Fire investigators said they found the cause of fire accidental, from a pot on the stove.
