Schiano: "We Owe It To Our Fans...To Win"

TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - The paper bags were out in full fashion Thursday night at Raymond James Stadium.  Signs were hoisted reading "Fire Schiano".

And the Bucs suffered their seventh loss of the season.  With not one win so far.

It has even sports reporters wondering why Bucs head coach Greg Schiano still has a job with the team.

During his day-after news conference, Schiano admits things aren't too good at One Buc Place...or on the field.

"I think we all realize that it's a performance-based business.  Players and coaches, we're paid to win.  That's what it's about.  We owe to the fans--our fans, our city, our community--to win.  That's what we're paid to do.  So, when you don't win, there's consequences, no doubt," said Schiano.

The Bucs lost to the Carolina Panthers Thursday night, 31-13.  The Bucs face the Seahawks in Seattle November 3rd.

Schiano still has high hopes, even if he's the only one.

"Have I lost the locker room...no.  Are they (the players) listening...yes.  Are we getting everything we need out of them...obviously not because we're 0-7."
