Sentencing Postponed In Abortion Pill Case

TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) -Federal Judge Richard Lazzara has postponed John Weldon's sentencing, instead scheduling a hearing on Thursday.

The hearing will include testimony from doctors for both prosecutors and the defense on whether a so-called 'abortion pill' actually caused Remy Lee to miscarry.

There's been question on the part of the judge whether the drug actually caused Lee to loose her baby.

Depending on what Judge Lazzara eventually decides, Weldon's sentence could be reduced.

In September, Weldon pleaded guilty to product tampering and mail fraud, admitting that he forged is physician-dad's signature and tricked Lee into taking the pill which she says she thought was an antibiotic.

Weldon could face 15 years in prison.
