Tampa police looking for armed robber

TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) – Tampa police detectives said they are continuing to ask for the public's help in tracking down a violent armed suspect who they said committed a third restaurant robbery in the city. 

Police said the suspect walked into a Subway restaurant at 4411 Armenia Avenue and pointed a gun at the employees. Police said he then demanded cash and threatened to shoot one of the victim's in the head. Police said the employees quickly handed the suspect money from the register before being ordered into a back room and the suspect fled northbound on Armenia.

Police said none of the employees involved in this latest armed robbery were injured.

Police said the other two robberies were a Papa John's Pizza at 9340 North Florida Avenue where he got away with cash, and another Subway located at 1819 East Fowler Avenue where police said he ended up leaving with nothing.

Police said anyone with information about these armed robberies is asked to contact crime stoppers at 1-800-873-tips (8477) or text "cstb plus your tip" to 274637 (crimes). Anonymous tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 in cash.

TPD released the following descriptions;

Suspect description:  Heavy set black male, approximately 5'7"-5'11" last seen wearing a red ski mask (no hole for mouth), sunglasses, black gloves and black hoodie with the hood up.

Suspect vehicle: Newer model gray or silver SUV and also possibly an older model 4-door Mercury
