Tampa Police raise money for Special Olympics

TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Tampa Police officers will take to Krispy Kreme's rooftop to raise money for Special Olympics Florida during the 9th annual Cops on Doughnut Shops. Officers will reel down buckets filled with coupons from the roof to customers who donate $1 or more to the cause.

The money that is raised during the three-day event will be used to help athletes with intellectual disabilities participate in Olympic style sporting events during the summer. The games will be played at Disney's Wide World of Sports this May.

When: Thursday, March 20th - Saturday, March 22nd from 6 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

Where: Krispy Kreme, 3113 West Kennedy Boulevard, Tampa
