Tampa police investigate burglary

TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) – Tampa police are releasing more information about a burglary call this afternoon.

The TPD said officers responded to the 2400 block of Corrine Street at 10 a.m. after a neighbor called 911 to report two men breaking into a home.

When officers arrived, police said they saw a male in the home through a window so they sent K-9 Repo into the home and he caught the suspect.

Police then said officers took the suspect into custody and he is being questioned.

Based on the 911 call and evidence in the home, police said officers had reason to believe a 2nd suspect may be in the attic.

Police said the tactical response team arrived and cleared the house.

No homes in the area were evacuated, but residents were told to stay inside, according to police.

Police said despite the original 911 call, detectives don't believe there is a 2nd suspect after interviewing the neighbor.
