VIDEO: Polk deputies take down meth ring

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd says his deputies have teamed up with the D.E.A. to break up a big methamphetamine operation. Judd says they seized 40 pounds of drugs with a street value of more than $2 million.

Twenty five suspects were involved in the drug ring.  Deputies say thirteen people have been arrested and they're looking for 12 more suspects.  Investigators say the source of the meth supply was a man from southern California named Javier Flores.  Flores went by the nickname "El Don."

Judd says the meth network was responsible for the distribution of large amounts of the drug in Polk, Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties. In addition to the drugs, deputies grabbed more than 100 weapons, ammo, bullet proof vests, cash and vehicles.

Sheriff Judd says ring leaders consulted a voodoo priest for predictions and readings regarding the organization's decisions and welfare.
